I love this steamed broccoli side dish when the florets are cooked al dente (tender crisp). I like to sprinkle the broccoli with toasted pine nuts, Parmesan cheese and truffle oil... yum!

Steamed Broccoli with Toasted Pine Nuts

Total Time: 10 min
Serves: 1

Ingredients:

1/2 cup fresh broccoli
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 teaspoon pine nuts, toasted
2 teaspoons Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, freshly grated
White truffle oil


Instruction:

Cut broccoli into florets; be sure to use the stems too, peel and cut them into matchstick pieces, put all into a steamer basket, cook until tender crisp. Drain, add salt and pepper. Transfer to a serving plate, sprinkle with toasted pine nuts, grated parmesan cheese, drizzle with white truffle oil just before serving.

This is an easy delicious gourmet side dish to serve with the main entree.

Wine recommendation: Pinot Gris; Chardonnay
