we stopped in at an out of the way little run down Italian
deli in
Sonoma County California
during a wine tasting tour and ordered
this from their menu.
The owner was straight out of
Hollywood with a big bushy mustache and an Italian accent.
This was the best most delicious tasting gourmet pastrami entree we've ever
had....
for hours afterward we still savored the
flavors.
Now each time we are in the area we stop by to get
our favorite.

Cut crusty buns in half;
using your fingers remove any excess amount of bread in the centers leaving 1/2-inch
walls. Spread a generous
amount of Dijon mustard on one half of the bun and mayonnaise on the other half
to make them moist.
Build the sandwich with pastrami slices, sliced red onion, thinly sliced kosher dill pickles, Provolone
cheese slices, lettuce leafs and serve with fresh
fruit threaded onto kebobs for a fantastic gourmet lunch.
